From the mule drawn floats built for the Krewe of Alla in 1947 to the
jaw-dropping 240 foot 5 unit superfloat built for Endymion in 2001, Blaine
Kern Artists knows no creative boundary. Through the years Kern has
constantly topped himself with crowd-pleasing props and floats that are
magnificent and beautiful as well as awesome and terrifying. First
introducing grand scale animated props in the European tradition back home
in New Orleans, Blaine Kern began revolutionizing Carnival in the 1950's.
Since then, his King Kong, Bacchasaurus, Bacchagator, Bacchawhoppa, Smokey
Mary, Leviathan, and Captain Eddy has continued to amaze Krewe Captains
and parade goers with unprecedented grandeur and limitless
imagination.
