Parades

Our Process

In addition to 18 Mardi Gras parades in New Orleans each year, Kern Studios builds parades around the world for theme parks, holiday celebrations, professional and collegiate sports celebrations, state fairs, musical festivals, and more.  Our turnkey services begin with in-house concept design and development using 3D models, original sketches, and maquettes. In our 250,000 square foot studio in New Orleans, we combine the craftsmanship of our sculptors, painters, welders, and carpenters with cutting-edge technology. Check out this video to see how parades are made.

Award-Winning Parades

We have built many award-winning parades, such as the annual Mardi Gras-themed parade for Universal Studios in Orlando. The parade rolls every day for over two months and is the longest running attraction in the history of the park. The parade has driven record season pass sales for the park; in February 2016, it was responsible for producing the largest single-day attendance ever. Learn more about Universal Studios Mardi Gras here.

Six Flags Parks took notice of the Kern Studios parades at Universal Studios and commissioned annual Mardi Gras-themed parades in several of their parks in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Read more about Six Flags Mardi Gras here.

Kern Studios also builds floats for festivals and holiday celebrations, including the oldest Thanksgiving parade in the United States: the 6ABC Dunkin Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade in Philadelphia.  The parade can be seen on Good Morning America, ABC’s national morning show on Thanksgiving Morning.
