On December 31st, the Allstate Sugar Bowl New Year’s Eve Parade rolled through downtown New Orleans. For the second edition of this sponsored parade, the teams from the Auburn Tigers and Oklahoma Sooners got to ride through the historic city center of New Orleans, where the crowds had gathered to cheer them on –and catch a bead or two of course!
We were proud to welcome back Allstate and the Allstate Sugar Bowl committee as main sponsors, as well as French Market Coffee, the New Orleans Hotel Collection, the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center and Mardi Gras World. And we were thrilled to welcome Condor Airlines, The King Firm, Take 5 Oil Change and River City Venues as new sponsors for 2016.
WDSU did a live, national broadcast of the parade from the Fan Fest stage at the iconic JAX brewery, where members of e.g. the WorldStrides organization and U.S. Honor Guard did a live performance.
Due to inclement weather, Kern Studios had to reschedule the parade to 1.30pm at the last minute, an hour earlier then we had planned for. Fortunately, we got hold of the hundreds of parade riders, band members, dance groups and other performers, so the parade could start on time and more importantly: in good weather!
